Keeping the weight OFF!

I am so disappointed in myself... I am right back to where I was last year same date same time frame... It was this time last year, when my family doctor told me, that I need to loose some weight, and exercise. Shortly after that I discovered the NextFit keychain Trainer. It help me so much, I was exercising every day.... Within 3 months I had lost over 28 pounds... When I see video's like the one you are about to watch, makes me so sick, and mad at myself for not applying DISCIPLINE in my life every day... I worked so hard to get it off, and now I have to start all over again. I am not obese, but I can clearly see how quickly it can get a hold of you. I am in my 50's now, and for the first time I have to watch what I eat. I have always been a small frame, and never weighted more than 110 to 115. In fact i had to be very careful, because I could loose weight so quickly, so this whole exercising thing, and watching what i eat has been a struggle for me... its time to get moving again... How about you, do you struggle with discipline in weight loss, and exercising. I would love to hear what you do to keep the pounds off?

How to Prevent Out-of-the-Blue Heart Attacks
And you thought your 401(k) statement was scary. How about the fact that more than half of all heart attacks strike people who seem perfectly healthy—no high LDL cholesterol, no high blood pressure? Don't cue up the menacing music yet: There are other known risk factors, and you can control them relatively easily.

One reason a heart attack happens to a seemingly healthy person like you is that there's a stalker in your arteries: inflammation. And now, the benefit of what we've been doing to combat it at NewYork–Presbyterian and the Cleveland Clinic has been confirmed by a Harvard Medical School study. The study found that if you have this inflammation villain but you're in good shape otherwise, taking a statin drug could slash your risk of a horror-story heart attack by 50 percent. Read more

How To Build More Muscle

Muscle strength peaks at age 25 and hits a plateau before falling sometime in your mid-to-late 30s. The more shapely, strong muscle you can bank now, the stronger you’ll stay for life. Use these strategies to exercise to your full potential.

LAST LONGER, RECOVER STRONGER
You can get more from your workout and trim recovery time by knowing what to eat and drink before, during, and after exercise.

ONE TO TWO HOURS BEFORE YOUR WORKOUT
Have a high-carb snack. “Carbs can help you feel more physically and mentally energized during exercise,” says Liz Applegate, Ph.D., director of sports nutrition at the University of California, Davis. In one study, cyclists who ate carbs before riding were able to pedal 18 percent longer before fatiguing. Make the energy last by adding a small amount of protein: Try a bowl of Cheerios and boost the carb count with some fruit, or half of a turkey sandwich (stay fairly light on the turkey to keep it moving through your system) and a banana. For a turbo charge, add coffee. A British review of 21 caffeine studies found that caffeinated people said that exercise felt easier, and they were able to run, swim, bike, and row 11 percent faster and/or longer before tiring out. Just 250 milligrams - one 16-ounce coffee - does the trick.

DURING YOUR WORKOUT

Why Is Your Weight Loss Stalled?

You huff and puff through cardio sessions, but that extra layer of flab just won't budge.

Surprise: Your workout might be to blame. "If you're focused and smart about how you use that half hour, you will be amazed by your results." Here is what to do--and not to do--to rev your metabolism and slim down for good. Read more

A Winner:

A winner is someone who sets their goals, commits themselves to those goals and then pursues their goals with all the ability that is given to them. That requires someone who believes in themselves, who will make self sacrifices, work hard, and maintain the determination to perform at the best of their ability.
